What is the Faithfulness of God?

๐Ÿ“– [Lamentations 3:22-23 NKJV]

22 Through the LORD's mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not.

23 They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.

"

Jeremiah wrote this from the ruins of Jerusalem.

The city was destroyed. The temple burned. The people were in chains, being dragged into exile. Everything was gone.

And in the middle of that devastation, Jeremiah wrote: "Great is Your faithfulness."

Not "Great was Your faithfulness, back when things were good."

Not "Great will be Your faithfulness, someday when You fix this."

**"Great is Your faithfulness."** Present tense. In the rubble.

Faithfulness means God keeps His promises. Always. Without exception. Even when circumstances scream otherwise.

He promised to preserve a remnant, and He did, even through exile.

He promised a Messiah, and He sent one, right on time.

He promised to never leave or forsake His people, and He hasn't, even when they couldn't see Him.

God's faithfulness does not depend on our circumstances looking good. It depends on His character being unchanging.

Lamentations 3:23 says God's mercies are "new every morning."

Not recycled. Not rationed. Not running out.

New. Every. Morning.

Yesterday's failure doesn't exhaust His supply. Tomorrow's struggle won't deplete His resources. His compassion doesn't have a quota.

What broken place in your life feels beyond repair?

God's faithfulness meets you there. New mercy. This morning. Right now.

May the grace of God through Christ be with you.
