We have a Father in Heaven.

God is omnipotent, omnipresent and omniscient but it pleases Him to be our Father. The word 'father' is used to describe one who passes on life or who creates, originates or founds something. For example, James Naismith is the “father” of basketball because he created the game over 100 years ago. Abraham is called the father of the faithful since the promises of eternal life through faith originated with him (Romans 4:16).

We each have a physical father who gave us life, and, thus, is customary in most cultures to carry the surname of our male parent, and most naturally call him “Dad” or “Father.” Likewise, God became our Father when we believe His Word. Then, we become born again by Him. Are we not all children of God? No! To produce after a kind, a seed has to be given out which must be received on the other side. Physically, we produce our kind when we give a seed (sperm) and the woman receives it in her womb (by her eggs).

Similarly, A spirit produces after its kind by giving out a seed (which is words, which is spirit as Jesus said in John 6:63, “the words I speak are Spirit and life). But one has to receive it with in his spirit by the heart (remember the parable of the sower in Matthew 13) and that produces a new man born of God.

This is why the Word of God must be preached for people to believe to be saved. faith. We become what we believe and we speak what we believe and that reflect in our actions. By believing God's Word, you have become His child.

Your earthly father does not give you provision and protection and all other good things just because of what you do. No, he does them because that's what He has to do for you as a father. It's his duty to take care of you. Your duty is to remain His child and depend on Him as such.
