Two Essential Questions to Ask in a Relationship

If you are in a relationship, seeking one, or simply searching for love, it's important to ask yourself two fundamental questions. Firstly, "Why do I need my partner in my life?" Secondly, "Why does my partner need me in their life?" Take some time to answer these questions honestly and write down your responses. Don't worry if you struggle to come up with a satisfactory answer.
It's also worth asking your partner these questions and allowing them time to provide honest answers. Don't be discouraged if their response is vague or lacking depth, as this is not uncommon.
Once you have both answered these questions, compare your answers and assess any differences. This may highlight differing expectations, levels of maturity, or the root cause of any misunderstandings or arguments. It's important to recognize that you both love each other, but may have unrealistic or misguided expectations of each other.
Unrealistic expectations and disappointed expectations are often the cause of breakups and divorces. Understanding why you and your partner need each other is crucial to building a strong and lasting relationship. Until you have a clear understanding of each other's needs and expectations, disappointment is inevitable.
PRAYER: “Grant to me, O Lord, to understand my worth in You, to love who I am and what I ought to love, to praise what delights You most, to hate what You hate and to be who You have made me to be. My heart is Yours and I know You will give it to someone who will cherish and keep it well. Help me know my worth with someone else and my worth even without the love of someone else, that I will forever live a life worthy of me in You, in Jesus name. Amen”
