Trust the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own understanding

I receive several prayers request each day and I will be pretending if I say, I understand everything people are going through. But whether you’ve been praying for God to send you the right partner, or give you a better grade in an exam, or fix your health or your financial problem, remember that whether He changes the situation or changes you, He “will fulfil his purpose for you.” (Psalm 57:2).

God sees the big picture, and He loves you so much that He works out “all things for your good.” (See Romans 8:28).

One author wrote, “It’s hard to make sense of life’s challenges when you’re in the middle...you’re too tired, your perspective’s limited…you don’t have the strength or vision to do this on your own… ‘Trust the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own understanding’, Proverbs 3:5 says.

This means that let go of floundering attempts to manipulate people or get it done your own way. It is just like putting up a huge edifice. To the lame person, he may never be able to tell the gigantic artefact even when he is given the building’s plan. Until the building is completed and its glory seen, he may never understand why the iron rods, cement, blocks, etc. may be needed but only at a particular point in time.

Much like this, we may never understand it when God as a master architect is building our lives, simply because we almost always act as lame persons. Consequently, only God knows when to bring in the rods, water, etc. in time. We may not understand the whole show until God completes our lives and shows to the world how glorious an edifice we can be. He sees the big picture.
