See God as a Good Shepherd

David said, "The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want" (Psalm 23:1). David didn't say, "Our Shepherd" or "a Shepherd". He personalized it. He said, "my Shepherd".
Pause and think about it: What did David see in God to call Him "My Shepherd"? David obviously sounded like someone who knew God up close and personal. He saw himself as sheep and saw the Lord as His shepherd. He knew he had a lot of needs that could make him stress, frustrated, and worried but knowing God as his Shepherd, He wasn't going to want anything.
The Lord wants to take care of each of us also, much like a shepherd cares for his sheep. Listen to how the Amplified puts it; "The Lord is my Shepherd [to feed, guide, and shield me], I shall not lack." God wants to take care of every single need of ours. He is our Protector and our Provider. He is a good Shepherd. A good shepherd is to tender his sheep like a good father does is to his child. The enemy will attack the “sheep-shepherd” relationship just as He attacks the “father-child relationship.” He knows if he can get you to walk in life without a shepherd then he has the opportunity to attack you. This is because predators only attack where there is no shepherd.
Our perception about God has to change. We have to see God as our Shepherd the same way that we know Him to be our Father. This is because by seeing God you will never want, since, the shepherd knows and provides all the sheep needs so that it won't even want or lack anything.
