Stressed or Anxious? There is rest for you in Christ.
Friends, in a world that often feels overwhelmingly chaotic, finding rest can seem elusive. Yet, the scriptures offer a profound invitation to find rest in Christ. When God gave us Christ, He gave us rest, rest for our spirit and soul.

This rest isn't about taking a break or getting adequate sleep. Rather, it's an invitation to embrace a peace with God that transcends our current circumstances. Jesus said, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest."
Christ invites us to bring not just our hearts to Him, but all the burdens we carry, all the stress in our minds, all the cares of life, and find rest in Him.
Consider the story of Mary and Martha in Luke 10:38–42. While Martha busied herself with household tasks, Mary chose to sit at Jesus' feet. When Martha sought Jesus' intervention, He gently reminded her, "Martha, Martha, you are worried and upset about many things, but few things are needed, or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her" (v. 41–42). Martha was consumed by tasks, but Mary chose to rest at the feet of Jesus, to be in fellowship with Him and listen to His words.
You may ask, how can I receive this rest? The Bible teaches that we enter His rest through faith and humility. Faith means trusting God's love and promises to us through Christ. It's believing that He cares for us. Humility is casting our cares upon Him because we know He cares for us.
This rest is not passive, but active: It's an intentional decision to rely on God's love for us in Christ. It's a daily practice of surrendering our worries and anxieties to Him, knowing that He loves and cares for us, and He is faithful.
As we decide today and every day to rest in Christ, our perspective will shift, and we begin to experience the peace that surpasses all understanding, even amidst life's storms.
