Start counting your blessings.

Start counting your blessings. Don't get caught up in counting other people's blessings that you forget to count your blessings. We are usually too busy counting the things we don't have, or the things that others have or are getting, and never really stop to count our blessings. But it's better to be grateful for our blessings than to take them for granted, feel envious, unfulfilled and unhappy in life.
Today, we have an opportunity to reflect and count our blessings and be thankful. That’s when we will realize how blessed we are, regardless of the things we don’t have yet and be grateful rather than take things in our life for granted.
When we take something for granted, we do not appreciate it. And when we don’t appreciate the things God gives us, we don’t deserve more. That’s why David will say, “Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits” (Psalm 103:2).
The Apostle Paul’s advice to the church is “Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” (1 Thessalonians 5:18). Meaning, what’s God’s will for us is to be grateful for the blessings in our lives in all circumstances.
Let’s take some time to reflect on the goodness of God beyond our desire for things and count our blessings one by one. Remember these words of this popular hymn and count your blessings:
The songwriter said, “When upon life’s billows you are tempest tossed, when you are discouraged, thinking all is lost, count your many blessings name them one by one, and it will surprise you what the Lord hath done. Count your blessings, name them one by one; Count your blessings, see what God hath done; Count your blessings, name them one by one, and it will surprise you what the Lord hath done.
