Producing Good Fruit: The Power of Connection to Christ

Have you ever accomplished something great, only to be asked over and over again how you did it? As a child of God, it is likely that you have experienced this phenomenon many times. People may ask you how you were able to pass an exam, purchase a property, achieve healing, or maintain a strong relationship or marriage. The truth is that as children of God, we are born to do great things.
What others see us do or experience is like the fruit on a branch of a good tree. The branch produces fruit because it is connected to a vine. Similarly, the fruit we produce is the result of who we are connected to. If we are connected to Christ, the true vine full of grace and truth, we have to bear good fruit such as love, righteousness, success, prosperity, health, joy, and peace. On the other hand, if we choose to accept the lies of Satan, we will bear fruit such as sin, evil, depression, and the like.
There may be various factors that prevent a good branch from producing good fruit, but God always prunes His branches so that they can bear much fruit. He does this with His Sword, which is His Word. In John 15:4, Christ says, "Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you, unless you abide in Me." So let us strive to abide in Christ and allow His Word to flow in us, so that we may bear much fruit for His glory.
PRAYER: Thank you, Merciful Father, that You never condemn me. Today I choose to walk in the understanding of who you have made me in Christ and I refuse to live to please any man. I thank You that the life of Christ flows through me always. Grant me the strength not to focus on myself or trust my own effort, but to always rely on You, in Jesus name. Amen.”
