Jehovah Sabaoth, The Lord of Hosts

[1 Samuel 1:3 NKJV]
3 This man went up from his city yearly to worship and sacrifice to the LORD of hosts in Shiloh.
Sabaoth (צְבָאוֹת) means armies or hosts, military forces assembled for battle.
Jehovah Sabaoth is not a poetic title. It's a war name.
The LORD of angel armies. The commander of heaven's forces. The God who fights.
This name appears over 250 times in Scripture, mostly in contexts of conflict, opposition, or spiritual warfare.
When David faced Goliath, he declared: "You come to me with a sword, a spear, and a javelin, but I come to you in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel."
One teenager. One giant. And the armies of heaven backing the boy with a sling.
Goliath fell.
James later wrote: "You do not have because you do not ask."
When was the last time you actually asked Jehovah Sabaoth to fight for you?
Not vague prayers. Not passive hoping. But bold, specific requests for divine intervention in battles you cannot win on your own.
The God who commands angel armies is not passive. He is not distant. He does not sit idle while His people struggle.
He fights.
Call on Him.
May the grace of God through Christ be with you.
