God will never let us go through what we cannot bear.

Have you ever seen your parents praising you or talking about you to people who thought you will be a failure or won’t go far in life? Do you notice the excitement and how proud they always sound? Well, your Father in heaven does same also. He did similar about His son, Job, before the devil. And when He praised Job for his integrity, Satan replied, “You have always put a wall of protection around him…take away everything he has, and he will surely curse you.” (Job 1:10).

He gave Satan permission to test Job, but He placed limits on how far he could go (See Job 2:6). Satan always think that we love God because of the things we get from Him. However, God knows otherwise. He always wants to expose Satan’s foolishness and lies. God knows that His children loves and serves Him because of who He is, and not because of what they get from Him. So, sometimes, “the enemy comes in like a flood” (Isa 59:19) to attack our mind, marriage, education, and anything that’s of God in our lives.

But when that happens, Isaiah says, “The Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard [shield] against him” (Isa 59:19). Paul says, “We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed” (2 Corinthians 4:8-9).

God is our Father and He will never let us go through what we cannot bear. When things are difficult and overwhelming, remember that your Father has provided a refuge that’s higher than you. He is your divine protection and eternal provision. Just lift up your eyes and call on Him (see Psalm 61:2). God is already bragging about your faith and righteousness.
