Friend, God's grace is sufficient

Ever had one of those days when everything goes awry? Like, you arrive late for a crucial meeting because of an accident, then spill coffee on yourself, and nothing unfolds as planned. These moments often reveal how little control we truly have. Yet, they're also times when God unveils something profound: His strength shines brightest in our weakness.

In 2 Corinthians 12:9, the Apostle Paul shares a profound revelation he received from God. He writes, "But He said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.' Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me." Can you imagine that? Instead of feeling discouraged by his struggles, Paul chooses to celebrate his weakness.

We often equate weakness with failure or defeat. The world values strength, independence, and self-sufficiency. However, we fail to realize that God isn't impressed by our attempts to project our own strength. He doesn't ask us to be perfect or strong on our own. Instead, He wants us to lean on Him in our weakness and trust that His grace is more than enough.

The story of Gideon in the Bible is a relatable example. Gideon felt inadequate when called to lead others into battle. His initial response to God's call was essentially, "Who, me?" But God saw Gideon's weakness differently, as an opportunity to reveal His power and glory.

Similarly, when we feel swamped, overwhelmed or insufficient, it's God's invitation to trust Him. Perhaps you're going through a tough time right now. You might feel like you can't push through or handle your current responsibilities. It's okay. You aren’t God. In fact, it's through our weakness that God most significantly demonstrates His strength.

Corrie ten Boom, a Holocaust survivor and Christian, once said, "You may never know that Jesus is all you need until Jesus is all you have." In her darkest moments, when she had lost everything, ten Boom discovered the sufficiency of God's grace. I find this phrase deeply moving: "God's grace is sufficient." It truly is!
