Discovering Your Purpose and Finding Fulfillment in Work

God gave work to humans before we created money, and He had already made provisions for us to work before He even formed us. In fact, money became necessary when people needed to exchange services and goods with each other. So, what motivated people to work before the concept of money existed? The answer is that they found purpose and meaning in their work, and this is what ultimately brings satisfaction and fulfillment.

As Genesis 4:2 states, "Later she gave birth to his brother Abel. Now Abel kept flocks, and Cain worked the soil." These two pioneers of work had different callings, and by working hard in their respective fields, they were able to serve others and contribute to the common good. Each person has different skills and abilities, and it is by working together and sharing our gifts that we can thrive and prosper. This exchange of what each person has is what we call "trade," and later a legal term was adopted to facilitate this exchange, which we call "money."

In pursuing our work and fulfilling our purpose, we also learn and grow, constantly improving and finding new ways to serve others more effectively. This process is known as "education." Ultimately, the key to finding success and happiness in life is to first seek God and understand the unique purpose He has for you. Work hard and serve others with the gifts and abilities He has given you, and the rest will fall into place. Money and other blessings will come as a result of living out your purpose and serving others.

PRAYER: *“Lord, inspire me to give of my best and make good use of the gifts, talents and resources You have given me wherever I find myself. Help me to serve my purpose and serve others well with what You have given me, while resting and rejoicing in all Christ has already done, in Jesus name.”   *
