Devote yourself to prayer with an alert mind and a thankful heart.

Be prayerful, watchful and thankful. Colossians 4:2 AMP says, "Be persistent and devoted to prayer, being alert and focused in your prayer life with an attitude of thanksgiving". Believe in prayer. A prayerful person is a peaceful and powerful person. This year, replace worrying with prayers. Because worrying is like a rocking chair. It only keeps you busy but takes you nowhere.
Pray for your family. Pray about your health. Pray about your plans. Pray about everything. Jesus said, "Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours." (Mark 11:24).
James 4:2 NIV says, "You desire but do not have, so you kill. You covet but you cannot get what you want, so you quarrel and fight. You do not have because you do not ask God."
You don't have to lie or cheat, or steal or kill, or quarrel or fight, to get what you need in life. Just pray about them and step out there and work hard. The promise of God is that, “The LORD will open the heavens, the storehouse of his bounty, to send rain on your land in season and to bless all the work of your hands. You will lend to many nations but will borrow from none.” (Deuteronomy 28:12).
Be a prayerful person. We don’t pray because we have needs. We pray because we have a relationship with our Heavenly Father. If you only pray when you are in trouble then you are already in trouble. It’s through prayer that we have obtain grace and mercy to help us in times of needs (Hebrews 4:16).
Again I say, be prayerful, watchful and thankful. Stay alert in prayer and stay thankful in all situations. Prayer with thanksgiving brings this inner peace and strength that no one can explain.
