Christ is interceding for us

Christ is interceding for us

Friends, Christ is interceding for us. The Apostle Paul tells us, "Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died, more than that, who was raised to life, is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us." (Romans 8:34)

Christ isn't just a distant God who accomplished salvation and then left us to get through life by ourselves. No, He is actively involved in our lives, advocating for us at the right hand of the Father. He is not only interceding for us because of our sins; He is also ensuring that we receive the fullness of the blessings that come with His glorious life and righteousness in us.

Think about it like this: Imagine having a brother in the highest place of authority who is always speaking up for you, advocating for you, ensuring that you don't suffer for what he has already paid for and struggle to get all he has given you. This is what Jesus is doing for us every day.

He understands our weaknesses because He experienced human life in all its frailty. He’s not sitting in heaven with a cold heart, disconnected from our struggles. Instead, He sympathizes with our weaknesses and pleads our case with deep compassion. He’s our High Priest, and as Hebrews 4:15 reminds us, He’s able to empathize with our weaknesses because He was tempted in every way, just as we are, yet without sin.

Jesus is advocating for more than just our forgiveness. He’s pleading for us to receive all the blessings that come with being righteous in Him and partake in the glory He shares with the Father. These blessings include peace, joy, strength, and the ability to live a life that reflects His character. He’s not just interested in getting us through life; He wants us to experience the abundant life He promised in John 10:10.

So, every time we stumble, He’s there, not with condemnation, but with a plea for more grace on our behalf. He’s praying that we’ll grow stronger, that we’ll walk in the fullness of the Spirit, and that we’ll become more like Him. Therefore, when you feel overwhelmed by your weaknesses or failures, remember that Jesus is advocating for you. He’s not just there to secure your place in heaven; He’s actively working for your good right now.

He’s at the right hand of the Father, showing Him His sacrifice for you, and ensuring that you receive every blessing that comes from being His son. In those moments of doubt or struggle, let this truth sink in: Jesus is for you, He understands you, and He’s committed to seeing you walk in all the goodness He has prepared for you.
