Believe that it is well

The story in 2 Kings 4:24-37 features a faithful woman from Shunem who refused to be discouraged by her circumstances and instead held fast to God's promises. She showed kindness to the prophet Elisha and was blessed with a son as a result of his prophetic word. However, when her son died, she did not lose faith but rather confidently declared that all would be well. When she brought the matter to Elisha, she remained steadfast in her belief and was rewarded with her son's miraculous resurrection.

This account serves as a powerful reminder that God's promises are not fleeting or temporary but rather enduring and reliable. He desires to bring us into a place of true rest, joy, righteousness, provision, and protection, and he has already accomplished everything necessary to make this a reality. However, we must respond to his promises with faith and trust in his goodness and power. The Shunammite woman's unwavering faith allowed God to accomplish his will in her life, and the same is true for us. If we hold fast to our faith, God will do amazing things in us, for us, and through us.

PRAYER: “I ask, O Lord, today to grant me the grace not only to be a hearer of Your Word, but a doer of it; not only to love, but also to believe and rest in Your grace; not only to live, but to live by faith in all Jesus has already accomplished for me. Help me not only to profess that I am a Christian, but to honour Your Holy name and live a life worthy of your name. Help me to trust You always for everything in Jesus name. Amen”
