Why do you do what you do?

Upon entering the bank, a man kindly held the door open for a woman following behind him. However, instead of expressing gratitude, the woman retorted, “You don’t have to hold the door because I’m a woman.” The man simply smiled and replied, “I’m not doing it because you’re a woman, I’m doing it because I’m a gentleman.”
It's not uncommon for people to believe that treating others with kindness and respect is only necessary when certain criteria are met, such as their gender, age, or status. However, this mentality does not align with the principles of Christianity. Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, was not swayed by society's expectations and instead lived with integrity.
When we recognize our identity in Christ, we are liberated from the need to impress or gain acceptance from others. We should strive to exhibit acts of love, kindness, and encouragement because it is part of who we are, not because we are following societal norms or trying to please someone else. Our actions should reflect the goodness of Christ within us, and we should always strive to do what is right regardless of the situation or person involved.
PRAYER: “Holy Father, thank You for the gift of life. I am still not sure why I do most of the things I do. I know there ought to be more to life than just working. Please, help me know and understand the reason behind life, so I will not just do things but live a life of purpose, in Jesus name. Amen”
